On behalf of the Astana EXPO-2017, TRIAD Berlin was responsible for the design, organization, and implementation of the international conference series Future Energy Forum, which took place from June 29 to September 5, 2017. Topics were the future of renewable energy sources, methods of energy efficiency, and new business models for a post-fossil-fuel society.

Twelve conferences with up to 400 participants from over 50 nations came together in the new EXPO Congress Center. Internationally connected institutions such as the European Union, Nazarbayev University, OECD, UNESCO, UNIDO, and UNITAR were represented. Five hundred speakers from the scientific, political, and economic sectors took part in keynotes, panels, and workshops – including solar-flight pioneer Prof. Dr. Bertrand Piccard, the astrophysicist and Nobel laureate Prof. George Smoot, and strategy consultant Dr. Parag Khanna.

The most important findings are recorded in the Astana EXPO-2017 “Manifesto of Values and Principles,” presided over by the renowned Steering Committee, a foundational text for ongoing discourse.

"Each World Expo has brought surprises. In Kazakhstan, in just 10 weeks, a kind of 'Energy Davos' has come into being. Together with our partners, we have succeeded in bringing together leading international experts for a pioneering discussion about the future of energy. The manifesto summarizes their knowledge as a foundation for the continuing discourse with regards to the coming Expo 2020 in Dubai, beyond which it must continue to take place. "
